BinkleyTerm
BinkleyTerm is best known as a front-end mailer for FidoNet Bulletin Board Systems. However, BinkleyTerm also can be used as a powerful terminal emulation program. The program is especially useful as it can be used on non-standard hardware like the DEC Rainbow 100 and the Tandy 2000. Of course, it also works like a dream on strictly PC-compatible hardware.
FOSSIL Drivers
BinkleyTerm relies on a Fido-Opus-Seadog Standard Interface Layer (FOSSIL) driver to access the communications hardware. A collection of FOSSIL drivers is available from the Worldwide Opus Consortium.
Version 2.40
Version 2.40 represents the final release of BinkleyTerm that was strictly compatible with the FOSSIL specification and the MS-DOS operating system. Later versions assumed the presence of IBM-compatible hardware, breaking compatibility with non-standard DOS hardware. Approximatrix has made version 2.40 available for download, but does not provide support for BinkleyTerm or provide any sort of warranty for the software.
